About Me:

I danced with the Alwin Nikolais Company in the 1970s. I am now developing new theater work. I want to reconnect with dancers, particularly those involved with contact improvisation.

Brief artistic bio (required for Faculty, Guest Artists and Subs):

Danced with Alwin Nikolais Dance Theater,
choreographed for Latin American Theater Festival and Poets Theater at the Public. Taught in arts in education programs. I am also a writer.

Class Descriptions (required for Faculty, Guest Artists and Subs):

Workshop format combining yoga based stretches; movement combinations (the vocabulary culled from ballet, Graham and Dunham); theater exercises to create characters and scenes.

All of the elements (listed above) combine to introduce a performance genre that is a type of cabaret. Part improvisation and part composition. The themes and narrative elements loosely linked by movement segments.
Like Big Theater, David Rousseve, I hope to drive an eclectic mix of sources towards a cohesive statement.
